She loves infantry, and that is the only reason we ever play any other mod is when she decides she wants to be able to make her infantry sprint. Not a game breaker, just my personal take after probably a hundred hours of playing the mod. My only request is that you consider *slightly* adjusting just one of their abilits. For their effectiveness they are not expensive, their only downside being the max of 1 you can field. they can go invis like actual ninjas, they have an extremely high rate of fire, they never miss (unless they are mine and the AI is running away hur hur), and they can take a huge amount of punishment. The ONLY thing that stands out as just crossing the line of continuity with the rest of the game are the snipers. OKW is my favorite crew, has been since they came out, and you've perfected them.Ĭouple of requests/suggestions (if you're interested/taking them): I especially love how you made the railway artillery something to be reckoned with, as it surely must have been when it was employed in the war. To the author: akula_ace, dude, shoot me a friend req on here and I will buy you something off your wishlist, it's the least I can do for taking the time to hone the settings of this game into something that is just a pure joy to play, every time. Nuking the above as I did not know that existed! (Read the instructions, if you're experienced with the game you'll want to crank the difficulty up since it removes the AIs resource crutches, don't worry they do just fine) It also means that tanks are that much more precious, and Akula already makes them much more deadly than vanilla. this means that the Allies get the advantage of those free call-ins which can really push the map in their favor until Axis AT is set up properly. (It doubles the cost of tanks, and pop cost of non-call-in tanks). It can get a little gonzo, which can be fun, but what we have recently discovered (in our opinion) really puts this mod over the top, and that is combining it with the Infantry Emphasis *Gamemode* mod (not the tuning pack). It's also deep and engagine, with a lot of content, without being overly complicated. We play all factions, and unlike some of the really good contenders, Akula is fun and effective to play with all sides. World at War (We just call it Akula) is, by a good margin, the champion. I have forced them to play every popular tuning mod, and some not so popular tuning mods. I've put almost 600 hours into the game and only comp stomp alone or with wife/friends (my competitive RTS days ended back in like AOE2, yes I am old).
